Australia Day

Australia Day is an annual favourite with a regular attendance of around 150 locals who help us acknowledge and celebrate our outstanding citizens and be reminded of all the reasons why being an Aussie is so great.

Australian Citizenship

Many residents become Australian citizens through Citizenship ceremonies conducted by Cook Shire Council. We ensure your citizenship ceremony is a meaningful and special experience for you and your friends and family.

Cooktown Discovery Festival

The Cooktown Discovery Festival is one of Cook Shire's most popular and long running events, with the highlight being the re-enactment of Captain James Cook's arrival on the banks of the Endeavour River in 1770 and the interaction between the Europeans and the First Nations people.
