Celebrations and Awards

We love a good excuse to celebrate!

Cook Shire Council run and participate in various celebrations and awards ceremonies.

Australia Day

Australia Day is an annual favourite with a regular attendance of around 150 locals who help us acknowledge and celebrate our outstanding citizens and be reminded of all the reasons why being an Aussie is so great.

Australian Citizenship

Many residents become Australian citizens through Citizenship ceremonies conducted by Cook Shire Council. We ensure your citizenship ceremony is a meaningful and special experience for you and your friends and family.

Tidy Towns

In 2014, Council submitted an application to the Keep Queensland Beautiful Tidy Towns competition outlining our achievements, strategies and wonderful community spirit.

Councillors at the time Penny Johnson, Alan Wilson and Mayor Peter Scott we're thrilled when it was announced at the Local Government Association of Queensland conference that we had won.
