Charlotte Street Streetscape and Facade Beautification Program
This one-off opportunity is provided to eligible local businesses, property owners and organisations on Charlotte Street, Cooktown, as part of preparations for Cooktown Expo 2020.
Privately owned eligible local businesses, property owners and organisations are invited to submit a request for a 50/50 investment to upgrade their shop facades.
Council will invest up to $2,500 per business or organisation with a minimum 50% co-investment required. Applicants 50% (co-investment can be in-kind).

OBJECTIVES

Key objectives of this initiative are to provide assistance to local businesses/organisations by:
- Encouraging and assisting the improvement of existing facades;
- Providing opportunities for the purchase of signage, art work and window dressings;
- Assisting with repairs and preservation to the store fronts;
- Supporting opportunities for business success, economic development and economic diversity across the region in the short, medium and long term.
Eligibility
- An organisation that:
- has a majority of members or customers based within Cook Shire; and
- is a properly constituted not-for-profit organisation; or
- is a properly constituted for-profit organisation (where the intended project will not return a direct profit to the applicant); or
- is a charitable organisation registered or sanctioned under the Collections Act 1966
