TRAVEL TO COOKTOWN AND CAPE YORK

1 October 2020 12:30PM - NEW CHIEF HEALTH OFFICER DIRECTION (NO. 15)

Effective from 1:00am Thursday 1 October 2020, the Queensland Chief Health Officer has released the Queensland border restriction direction (No. 15) regarding the requirements of all persons wishing to enter or proposing to enter Queensland from another State or Territory. 

Because of the reduced risk of COVID-19 transmission in northern New South Wales, the following changes have been made regarding the border zone:

  • The New South Wales border zone (PDF) has been extended
  • The Queensland border zone no longer exists
  • Queensland residents can travel anywhere in the New South Wales border zone for any purpose
  • New South Wales border zone residents can travel anywhere in Queensland for any purpose.

The direction has also been updated to provide a right of entry to people coming to Queensland to respond to an emergency energy, drinking water, sewerage, liquid fuel, resources or telecommunications event.

23 September 2020 3:00PM - NEW CHIEF HEALTH OFFICER DIRECTION (NO. 14)

Effective from 1:00am Thursday 1 October 2020, the Queensland Chief Health Officer has released the Queensland border restriction direction (No. 14) regarding the requirements of all persons wishing to enter or proposing to enter Queensland from another State or Territory. 5 September 2020 3:00PM - NEW CHIEF HEALTH OFFICER DIRECTION (NO. 13)

Effective from 1:00am Saturday 5 Septmber, the Queensland Chief Health Officer has released the Queensland border restriction direction (No. 13) regarding the requirements of all persons wishing to enter or proposing to enter Queensland from another State or Territory. It refers to COVID-19 hotspots, an updated list of which is available here.

19 August 2020 2:00PM - NEW CHIEF HEALTH OFFICER DIRECTION (NO.12)

Effective from 1:00am Thursday 20 August, the Queensland Chief Health Officer has released the Queensland border restriction direction (No. 12) regarding the requirements of all persons wishing to enter or proposing to enter Queensland from another State or Territory. 7 August 2020 3:00PM - NEW CHIEF HEALTH OFFICER DIRECTION (No.11)

Effective from 1am 8 August, the Queensland Chief Health Officer has released the Queensland Border restriction Direction (No. 11) regarding the requirements of all persons wishing to enter or proposing to enter Queensland from another State or Territory. 5 August 2020 10.30AM - QUEENSLAND BORDER RESTRICTIONS

From 8 August 2020, any person that has been in a declared COVID-19 hotspot during the past 14 days must not enter the state of Queensland. Any person entering Queensland (including returning Queensland residents) must complete a Queensland Border Declaration Pass prior to entering, including any freight transport drivers who were previously exempt. 3 August 2020 8.00AM - NEW CHIEF HEALTH OFFICER DIRECTION (No.10)

Effective from 10pm 31 July, the Queensland Chief Health Officer has released the Queensland Border restriction Direction (No. 10) regarding the requirements of all persons wishing to enter or proposing to enter Queensland from another State or Territory. It refers to COVID-19 hotspots, an updated list of which is available here.
