2022 Australia Day Award Nominees Announcement

Ahead of the 2022 Australia Day Awards and Citizenship Ceremony, Cook Shire Council announces all the category nominees and informs the community of important changes to the format of this year's Australia Day event.

The Cook Shire Council Australia Day Awards recognise members of our community who have made an outstanding contribution to the community, across a variety of areas.

Winners are traditionally announced at a public event held on Australia Day, however, due to the current wave of COVID-19 and in the interest of community health and safety, in order to align with Public Health Directions, Cook Shire Council has decided to make the 2022 Australia Day Awards and Citizenship Ceremony event by invitation only. Invitations have been extended to all award nominees and new citizens and will not be open to the general public. This year's Australia Day Ambassador, Rachel Downie, has also canceled her attendance at the event.

Members of the general public are kindly asked not to attend as this is now an invitation-only event. Winners will be announced to the community through Council channels after the event.
