PUBLIC NOTICE | MOUNT TULLY GREENWASTE TEMPORARY CLOSURE

Please be advised that due to the recent fire at Mt Tully Green Waste facility, and in the interest of public health and safety, the facility will immediately be closed until further notice.
The fire has been contained and will continue to be monitored as it is likely to smolder for some time, emitting smoke and high temperatures.
An alternative 24/7 green waste disposal site will be located 250m uphill past the current site (on the left). This site is available from 7 am Friday 10 June 2022.
Green waste may also be disposed of at the Cooktown Waste Transfer facility on McMillan Street during the following hours:
Monday: Closed
Tuesday: 7am - 4pm
Wednesday: 7am - 9am & 3pm - 5pm
Thursday: 7am - 9am & 3pm - 5pm
Friday: 7am - 4pm
Saturday: Closed
Sunday: 8am - 12pm & 12:30pm - 4:30pm
