DISABILITY WEEK JULY 16 -22
Cooktown Walk-a-thon Thursday July 20
Assemble Corner of Charlotte and Walker Streets 9.30am - Everyone welcome to join in
Disability touches the lives of most Queenslanders in some way - through the experiences we have with friends and family, in the school, at the workplace and in the community.
The Disability Action Week theme, Changing Queensland, reflects the improvements and changes that are being made to create a more positive outlook for people with a disability.
It also highlights the important role communities have in driving change at a local level.
So join the Cook Shire Council, Disability Service Queensland and Community Options Program (Queensland Health) for a walk-a-thon to experience potential access issues for those in a wheelchair, with walking aids or with prams.
Morning tea will be served after the walk to replenish the energy levels.
For further information please contact Council's Community Services Division on 40695444 or Barb Leys at Disability Services Queensland on 40695940
