The carrying out of the activities mentioned on this page require approvals under Local or State Laws.

To make an application for approvals please choose from the types of businesses listed below - if you are unsure which application to sure or if you need a licence or approval, contact Council's Environmental Health Officer.  

Food Business – Permanent or Mobile Premises

Application for licence to conduct a food business in a permanent or mobile premises.

This form applies to those operating a licensable food business in any location other than at a temporary event.

This application covers the following: 

• New food business licence for permanent premises
• New food business licence for mobile premises
• Renewal of food business licence (permanent and mobile premises)

Food Business - Temporary Stall

Application for licence to conduct a food business at an event or a market stall.

This application is used to apply for approvals to operate a licensable food business at a temporary event or market stall (if operating a market stall, the below market stall application form will also need to be lodged).

This application covers the following:

• New food business licence for at a temporary event
• Renewal of food business licences for temporary food stalls 

Market Stall

Application for approval to operate a market stall in Council controlled areas.

This application is used to apply for approvals to operate a market stall in a local government controlled area such as a park, roadside, sporting oval or community hall. A Food Business License is also required if food will be sold from the market stall.

This application covers the following: 

• New permit (one year)
• Temporary permit (one day)

Outdoor Dining

Application for licence to conduct outdoor dining. 

This application is used to apply for approvals to provide an outdoor dining facility on a local government controlled area, such as a footpath, adjacent to a food business with a valid food business licence.

This application covers the following: 

• New licence

Accomodation with Shared Facilities

Application for approval to operate a shared facility accomodation. 

This application is used to apply for approvals to operate share facility accommodations such as a bed and breakfast or backpacker hostel. This approval is not required for accommodation located within the boundaries of a premises that holds a valid caravan park approval.

This application covers the following: 

• New licence

Public Place Activities

Application for approval to conduct a public place activity. 

This application is used to apply for approvals to conduct the following activities in a local government controlled area:

• film and television production activities for which a development application is not required under the local government’s planning scheme;
• an invitation only ceremony, party or celebration attended by more than 20 people;
• a  car  wash, school  fete or  similar  fundraiser  held  on  no more than 1 day;
• a training event held on no more than one day;
• a training event held on more than one day without payment of a fee;
• a display, demonstration or information booth; and
• a right of occupation and use of a specified part  of a park or reserve by a sporting association.

 Advertising Device

Application for approval to display an advertising device. 

This application is used to apply for approvals to install, erect or display an advertisement or sign that is visible from the road or other public place. Approval is not required for advertisement that is regulated under the Cook Shire planning scheme.

Caravan Park

Application for approval to operate a caravan park or camping ground. 

This application is used to apply for approvals operate a caravan park or camping ground.

This application covers the following:

Other Commercial Use of Local Government Area

Application for approval for Commercial Use of Local Government Controlled Area. 

This application is used to apply for approvals to conduct a commercial activity that is not a public place activity, market stall, outdoor dining or temporary entertainment event as described on this page.

Renewals

Application for Renewal of Local Laws Approvals.

This application is used for renewing local law approvals when either no details have changed or if only your contact details have changed. If any other details of your approval have changed, please contact Council's Environmental Health team.
