Turn left 13 km South ofCooktown. You will see the ruins of an old farm house on the right hand side of the turnoff. The advertising sign reads "10 bloody miles to go". Archer point is 12 km from the Mulligan Highway turnoff and is accessible to normal cars in dry conditions. This is one of the best beach fishing locations on the coast as well as one of the most spectacular views of the coastline. Camping is permitted at Archer Point - but please be sure to remove your rubbish when you leave.
This area is inhabited by Estuarine (Salt Water) Crocodiles. Please take care near the water.
