Finch Bay is a spectacular beach, surrounded by mountains. On the left side of the beach, where the stairs from the parking area mysteriously appear, there are dozens of massive rocks sitting at the end of the mountain as well as one boulder that rests on its side in the beach.
On the right side of the beach, the mouth of a small river, which is said to have crocs in it, separates the beach from the mountains, which extend far out and offer great spots to fish for barra and coral trout. Heading away from the foreshore, along Walker St., you will pass the botanic gardens and it is only a further kilometre to the beach along a dirt road.
