Coastal Hazard Adaptation Strategy - Resilient Cape Strategic Plan
Our coast line is changing and planning for change is crucial. The Queensland State Government has funded the QCoast2100 program to help local governments build resilience to coastal hazards and for each to prepare a Coastal Hazard Adaptation Strategy (CHAS).
The Resilient Cape Strategic Plan is Cook Shire Council’s CHAS. It is about developing strategies that will put us in a better position to reduce impacts and to vastly improve protection for our coast from a predicted 0.8m increase in sea level rise in 2100.

The development of the Resilient Cape Strategic Plan is being primarily funded under the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection’s Qcoast2100 Program, which is supporting 31 Queensland local governments to undertake planning.
