Cook Shire Council to start the annual pre-storm season kerbside pick up.
10 January 2017 - 05:40PM
Cook Shire Council will start the annual pre-storm season kerbside pick up of green waste and whitegoods later this month. The service will be available to townships of Cooktown, Bloomfield, Rossville, Marton, Lakeland and Laura and is set to start on November 21.
Waste must be sorted into separate piles and put on the road verge or kerb no earlier than November 5 and no later than November 20. Other waste, including general household waste, asbestos or construction waste will not be picked up. Up to 1 cubic metre of construction waste (not including asbestos) may be dumped free at Cook Shire Waste Transfer Stations on Saturday and Sunday, November 26 and 27.
