PUBLIC NOTICE | MANGROVE REMOVAL SHERRIN ESPLANADE
From 1-3 November 2021, Council will be undertaking the removal of mangrove regrowth along a section of Sherrin Esplande in Cooktown.
18 October 2021 - 02:41PM
Please be advised that Council will be undertaking the removal of mangrove regrowth along a section of Sherrin Esplanade in Cooktown, from behind the Bowls Club where the mature mangrove forest ends, along the Esplanade to the Queen's Steps. The purpose of the works is to maintain amenity, facilities, aesthetics, and access to the parkland and surroundings, by controlling the regrowth of the mangroves.
These operations are scheduled for the low tide opportunity taking place from 1-3 November.
For more information please call Council on 4082 0500.
We apologised for any inconvenience this might cause and thank you for your cooperation.
