Cook Shire Community Updates March 2023

Are you looking for ways to stay informed about what's happening in your local community? Then pop in and join us for a cuppa and a chat at our Community Update Events.

Informative and casual, there’s no need to register, simply pop in at your leisure to meet Councillors and Council Officers, and connect with your neighbours, all while learning what's in store for our community.

Some of the project updates, community events and Council initiatives showcased at the events will include:

  • The Uluru Statement from the Heart – Council’s position on the statement, what it means for our community and how it aligns with Council’s forthcoming Reconciliation Action Plans
  • 2023/24 Budget - Find out more about the budget process and how you can provide input
  • Capital Works Projects – updates and information on a range of major projects around the Shire, including of Stage 5 of the Revitalisation of Charlotte Street that includes works at the Cooktown Wharf
  • Cooktown Discovery Festival 2023 - What's in store and how the community can get involved
  • Development applications and planning processes
  • 2024 Local Government Election – including general information for those who might be interested in being a Councillor

Event Details: 

No need to book or register, simply pop in for a cuppa and a chat at anytime during the session most suitable for you. Light refreshments will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there.
