Financial incentives for residential housing development

Council's Residential Housing Development Incentive Policy provides up to $35,000 in incentives for multiple dwelling or dual occupancy developments in Cook Shire. Single dwellings built on vacant land for an owner occupier can also receive up to $10,000 in rates relief under the policy. The policy remains in effect until 30 July 2025 or when the maximum cumulative incentive value of $250,000 has been reached. PLUMBING

Installing new plumbing or renovating your bathroom?

You may need to lodge a Plumbing Application - download our Plumbing Application Checklist to ensure you have all the paperwork required. You can access the plumbing forms you will need from the Queensland Government Department of Housing and Public Works webpage.

Please note: New legislation states that some low risk work can use “Fast Track Application”, however, Cook Shire Council has opted out by resolution at an Ordinary Council Meeting held on November 25 2019 and all plumbing applications are processed under the mandatory standard application process.

Trade Waste

Trade waste is the liquid waste generate from any industry, business, trade or manufacturing processes other than human waste, or waste that is a prohibited substance. All discharges must comply with the Sewer Admission Limits set out in Council's Trade Waste Environmental Management Plan.
