Kerbside Waste Collection

Council operate a regular kerbside waste collection service for residential properties in most townships and populated areas of Cook Shire.

Cooktown, Marton, Quarantine Bay, Keatings Lagoon, Lakeland, Laura and Coen have a weekly service, while Poison Creek, Oakey Creek, Endeavour Valley Road, Helenvale, Rossville, Ayton and Bloomfield are on a fortnightly collection.

Properties within the kerbside waste collection areas are charged half-yearly through rate notices, depending on the size of the wheelie bin used. The standard size is 240L, but smaller 120L wheelie bins are available by contacting Council.

Kerbside waste collection for commercial customers is by private arrangement. Contact Council for more information.

Please ensure your bin is put out no later than 6am on your scheduled pick up day to avoid a missed pick up.
