I arrived in Cooktown 17 years ago, started a business, Cooktown Wholesalers, and ran that for three years. After this I started and developed a very successful restaurant and takeaway over the next 10 years – the Italian Restaurant. I employed and trained local people. In 2016 I was elected to Cook Shire Council as Councillor and re-elected again in 2020. At present I am employed by FNQ Insurance Brokers as their Business Development Manager.

Since my election to Council I have represented our Shire and have learned much about governance, rules and regulations. This gives me a much clearer understanding about the facilities involved in making changes. I believe it is important to have experienced Councillors to support new Councillors.

I have a strong connection with community and am a strong listener and speaker. I am a positive person and if I can help I will. I am a strong advocate for sustainable long term economic development that will support our growing community. I am dedicated to support the growth of local business, clubs, housing, education, health, aged care and employment/apprenticeships for youth.

I have supported numerous community events by volunteering and assisting in any way I can. I am a committee member of the Cooktown RSL Club. I am proud to say that I have been a part of positive and proactive team.

We need progress and I am happy to say we have a lot of good things in the pipelines in these next four years. I want to ensure the smooth implementation of these projects with my gained experience in Council. I have held the portfolio for the Bloomfield area and feel positive things have come from working with the local groups.
