Cook Shire Council administers the following cemeteries throughout the Shire:

  • Cooktown cemetery
  • Coen cemeteries
  • Laura cemetery

To apply to erect a plaque or memorial, download and complete Council's Cemetery - Erection of Headstone or Memorial Application Form.

To apply to dispose of human ashes or remains, or purchase or reserve a plot, download and complete Council's Cemetery - Burial Body Ashes Application Form.

Cook Shire cemeteries offer a wealth of historical information and and offer insight into days gone by.
