Business and Industry Support

Clean Growth Choices

The Clean Growth Choices, a collaboration between Cook Shire Council, James Cook University and other stakeholders, aims to build community capacity, leadership and resilience. The program is about helping regional and rural communities successfully navigate towards more resilient futures in the face of various and disruptive global and local pressures. Expressions of interest are being sought from organisations to undergo a free resource efficiency assessment, which will include a review of energy, water and waste efficiencies and provide a brief report on opportunities. For more information, Council's Community, Economy and Innovation team.

Cooktown and Bloomfield Library Business Hubs

The Business Hubs at Cooktown and Ayton libraries aim to build community capacity, promoting sharing of ideas and skills that will increase the community and business capacity and further ensure self-sustainability. The Hubs offer a place for entrepreneurs, home businesses and others to access computers, word processing, internet and printing facilities in a private space, proudly funded by the State Library of Queensland. For more information on the Business Hubs, contact the libraries.

Cooktown Chamber of Commerce and Tourism

Cook Shire Council has always maintained a strong relationship with the Cooktown Chamber of Commerce and Tourism (CCCT) and draws upon their united approach to further developing opportunities across all business sectors and breaking down barriers impeding business growth. Find out more about the CCCT and how to join. Visit www.ccct.org.au

State Business and Industry Portal

When starting, growing or marketing your business, finding the right support, information, licenses, permits, etc, or even the right government department to contact can be a bit confusing. To streamline this process, the Queensland Government's online Business and Industry Portal (BIP) simplifies this for you. Located online at www.business.qld.gov.au, the BIP provides a FREE, single-access point for all your business, industry and investment needs.
