Waste Transfer Stations

Three main waste transfer stations exist in the shire with two landfill sites and other waste disposal points throughout the region.

* All waste transfer stations are closed on Christmas Day and Good Friday

Cook Shire residents can deposit any of the following materials, pre-sorted and separated, for free at local waste transfer stations:

Paper	Cardboard (<3 cubic metres)
Aluminium cans (<3 cubic metres)	Tin cans (baked bean cans etc)
Scrap metal(including car bodies)	Green waste (<3 cubic metres)
Pesticides (<5L)	Lead acid batteries
Gas bottles	Glass containers (<3 cubic metres)
White goods	Plastic bottles (<3 cubic metres)
Paints (<20L)	e-waste (televisions, computers and computer accessiories
Solvents, bleach and detergents (<20L)	Car bodies (with tyres, fuel, oil, coolant etc removed)
Mattresses	Waste oil
