PUBLIC NOTICE | TMR RESEALING WORKS
We have been advised by the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) that they will commence resealing works from early June 2022, weather and construction conditions permitting, at a number of locations in Cook Shire.
24 May 2022 - 01:36PM
We have been advised by the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) that they will commence resealing works from early June 2022, weather and construction conditions permitting, at the following locations:
- Mulligan Highway (Mount Molloy-Lakeland) - a short section near Bob's Lookout, Desailly Range, and short sections between Desailly Range and Lakeland
- Shiptons Flat Road - from Sandy Creek Bridge to Bloomfield Road intersection
- Mulligan Highway (Lakeland – Cooktown) - various sections north of Lakeland to near little Annan River Bridge
- Peninsula Developmental Road (Laura – Coen) - various sections
- Peninsula Developmental Road (Coen – Weipa) - various sections
Crews will be onsite Monday to Saturday between 6 am and 6 pm from Monday 6 June to Friday 19 August 2022, weather and construction conditions permitting. Work crews will progress from site to site as works are completed in each location.
Timeframes may be subject to change depending on the program of works and weather conditions.
The works will involve resealing the road surface to extend the life of the road pavement and reduce the formation of potholes. The works will improve safety and travel conditions for road users.
For the safety of road users and maintenance crews, changed traffic conditions will be in place including temporary speed limit reductions, and single-lane operation under coordination of traffic controllers while the works are carried out. Road users should expect minor delays and plan their journeys accordingly.
Variable Message Signs (VMS) will be in place on the approaches to the work sites to ensure motorists are aware of the changed traffic conditions. Changes in dates due to poor weather will be posted on the VMS.
More information about road conditions across Queensland’s state-controlled road network is available via the www.QLDTraffic.qld.gov.au website or 13 19 40 Information services.
