Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF)

Applications Close 2 August 2022

The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is delivered as a partnership between Queensland Government through Arts Queensland and eligible local councils across the state.

RADF promotes the role and value of arts, culture and heritage as key drivers of diverse and inclusive communities and strong regions. RADF invests in local arts and cultural priorities, as determined by local communities across Queensland. The Cook Shire RADF Committee assists the delivery of Arts Queensland and Council investment by voluntarily promoting the program and assessing and providing recommendations to Council on grant applications.

RADF objectives are to support arts and cultural activities that:

  • Provide public value for Queensland communities;
  • Build local cultural capacity, cultural innovation and community pride; and
  • Deliver Queensland Government's objectives for the community.

Local priorities are identified through community consultation, including the Arts and Culture Survey.

  • Reef Awareness and Recycling
  • Children and Youth – School Holiday Programs
  • Discovery Festival 2022 workshops and community programs

Round 2 2021-22 Quick Response Grants 12 July 2022 2 August 2022

What is a RADF Quick Response Grant?

RADF Quick Response Grants support arts projects that you already have ready to go but need funding to successfully delivery  or for an immediate need that arises where the activity is unable to be planned for or supported in other funding rounds, for example taking up professional development, skills development or small project opportunities at short notice.

Applicants can apply for up to $4,000.

Funding applications are assessed against other applications on a competitive basis. To remain competitive, all applications for funding must include realistic budgets and represent value for money. Please note that funds are limited, so applicants may only receive partial funding if the round is heavily subscribed.

Applications will be assessed by the RADF Committee and all applicants will be be notified of the results within 30 days of the closing date.

If you have already received RADF Funding in Round 1, 2021/22 or have other outstanding funding with Council, you will be ineligible to apply at this time.

Information including eligibility requirements, assessment criteria and application and approval processes can be found in Councils RADF Guidelines.

It is strongly recommended you discuss your potential RADF project with Council before submitting an application. Contact the RADF Liaison Officer via or on phone 07 4082 0500.
