PROJECT OVERVIEW

Upgrade the section of the road to seal between Chainage. 19.1 and Chainage.26.9 and connect two existing sections of sealed road. The works also including replacing and upgrade existing culverts

PROJECT PURPOSE The road provides critical access for Aurukun community and local stations to Peninsula Development Road (PDR) and attracts significant traffic including seasonal visitors and tourists. This project aims to upgrade Chainage 19.1 km to 26.9 km of the road to seal and also replace/upgrade existing culverts as per project plans to improve the all-weather access particularly during the wet season period to the remote community.
IMPACT OF WORKS There will be traffic management in place during the construction works. Minor delay is expected. Motorists are requested to follow traffic management signs and directions.
ESTIMATED COMPLETION mid-December 2022
