BRIDGE WORKS | WALLABY CREEK BRIDGE, SHIPTONS FLAT ROAD

Please be advised that the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is about to carry out bridge inspection and repair works on Wallaby Creek Bridge on Shiptons Flat Road. Bridge works are regularly carried out to ensure the continued safety and reliability of bridges on the state-controlled road network.

The inspections will be carried out on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 November 2021.

Repair works to the timber piles will be carried out from Monday 8 to Thursday 11 November 2021, weather permitting.

Both inspection and repair works will require intermittent full bridge closures between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm on the above dates. The bridge will be closed for 30-minute periods at a time at the following times:

TMR has arrangements in place to provide emergency access if required.

For the safety of road users and maintenance crews, changed traffic conditions will be in place including temporary full closures under coordination of traffic controllers while the works are carried out. Road users should plan their travel accordingly.

Variable Message Signs (VMS) will be in place at strategic locations to ensure motorists are aware of the changed traffic conditions. Changes in dates due to poor weather will be posted on the VMS.
