PRE-DISASTER SEASON CLEAN UP

One of the challenges of living in the Cape is that our bushfire and cyclone seasons overlap. 

Fire and cyclone preparations are very similar. Cleaning up, clearing, and properly disposing of domestic waste from in and around your property, will help to prepare your home and your family for what might come.

To help you prepare for the disaster season, all Cook Shire waste transfer stations will be accepting SORTED DOMESTIC waste for FREE from Tuesday 26 October 2021 until Sunday 7 November 2021.

All waste must be pre-sorted, so please sort your waste into separate streams. For example:

• Household waste
• Mixed recyclables
• Green waste
• Whitegoods

All un-sorted waste will be charged according to the regular fees and charges. Dumping more than four (4) tyres will also incur a fee.
