Cook Shire Council advises residents and road users of upcoming construction works on Furneaux Street, between Helen Street and Hope Street, as part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades in the area.
Scheduled Works:
- Start Date: Approximately Tuesday, 26 March 2025
- Duration: 1–2 days
- Work Hours: 7:00am – 5:00pm
- Location: Furneaux Street (opposite the Catholic Church)
Scope of Works:
- Rock-breaking using an excavator
- Loading and removal of broken rock
During this time, heavy construction machinery will be operating, and noise, dust, and vibrations are expected. Council will implement appropriate safety and environmental controls to minimise disruption and will ensure local access is maintained where safe and practical.
We ask motorists and pedestrians to exercise caution in the area, follow the instructions of worksite staff, adhere to signage, and drive to conditions.
Please note: Impacted residents have been duly notified of the upcoming works.
