Cook Shire grants, funding and partnership opportunities

Cook Shire Council proudly extends grants, funding, and partnership opportunities, fostering positive change within our vibrant community. Our Community Grants and Support Programs aim to uplift local community groups, individuals and organisations committed to enhancing our community’s well-being.

All grant funding and sponsorship applications should align with one or more of these themes outlined in Council’s Community Plan:

  • Places for People
  • Wellbeing and Empowerment
  • Accessibility and Connectivity
  • Economic Development
  • Environmental Responsibility
  • Organisational Capability
Community & Economic Development Grants

We are dedicated to bolstering local businesses and community groups through our Community & Economic Development Grant Program. Offered up to twice a year, this program provides up to $6000 of vital support towards fostering growth and sustainability across our community through projects and initiatives that focus on the following:

  • Facilities Enhancement: Encouraging development and upgrades for existing facilities.
  • Operational Sustainability: Providing support for essential equipment, programs, and websites vital to sustainability and growth.
  • Community Strengthening: Backing community events, workshops, and training initiatives fostering identity and capacity.
  • Environmental Preservation: Promoting conservation and enhancement of our Shire’s environmental assets.
  • Economic Success: Supporting regional economic development and diversity through short, medium, and long-term achievements.
Sponsorship & Partnerships

Eligible community groups, organisations and individuals are able to apply for sponsorship. Unlike grants, sponsorships are usually not focused on a specific project, and are more of a strategic partnership where Council receives some form of visibility, branding or promotional benefit in exchange for financial support.

Available all-year round (or until the budget is expended) sponsorship opportunities cater to a number of events, exhibitions, performances, sporting teams and organisations and can be utilised for equipment procurement, technology upgrades, minor infrastructure enhancements, publications, workshops and other expenses.
