Whom to contact when clearing your property
To determine if vegetation clearing is permitted on your site, contact the Department of Resources, responsible for regulating native vegetation clearing in Queensland.
Permissible Clearing Purposes
Clearing is generally allowed for:
- Constructing dwellings
- Creating or maintaining firebreaks
- Gaining site access
For specific advice on clearing your lot, contact the Department:
- Call 135 VEG (13 58 34) from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays)
- Email vegetation@resources.qld.gov.au
- Book a call or face-to-face meeting with a vegetation management staff member
- You can also request a vegetation map or property report
You can request a free vegetation management report which includes property information and maps to help you identify the type of vegetation on your property, the requirements of vegetation clearing and other laws that may apply. The report will be emailed to you as a PDF, free of charge.
