Please be advised that as part of the events, installations, and festivities for the 2025 Cooktown Discovery Festival, the following temporary road closures and changed traffic condisition will be in place at the below-listed times and locations:
SHERRIN ESPLANADE
Details: Between Bowls Club and the Captain Cook Statue for placement of the stage and market stalls.
Dates / Times: Wednesday 18 June (12 noon) until Monday 23 June (12 noon).

WILLIAM DAKU PARK
Details: Car parks along Webber Esplanade.
Details: For the Cape York Automotive Muster.
Dates / Times: 2PM Friday 20 June until 2PM Saturday 21 June.

CHARLOTTE STREET
Details: From the Top Pub to Sovereign Resort
Details: For the Big Fun Run for Little Athletics, Gold Delivery, Street Parade, Cape York Automotive Muster and Unfenced Asylum Challenge.
Dates / Times: Saturday 21 June, between the hours of 6 AM until 6 PM

GREEN STREET
Details: Part road closure between Charlotte Street and Hope Street for the Big Fun Run for Little Athletics.
Dates / Times: Saturday 21 June, between the hours of 6 AM until 8 AM (may re-open earlier).

GRASSY HILL
Details: Full road closure from the corner of Hope Street to the lookout for the Big Fun Run for Little Athletics (emergency vehicles only).
Dates / Times: Saturday 21 June, between the hours of 6 AM until 8 AM (may re-open earlier).
Residents have been duly informed.

WALKER STREET
Location: Part road closure from the corner of Charlotte Street to Adelaide Street for the Big Fun Run and the Street Parade.
Dates / Times: Saturday 21 June, between the hours of 6 AM until 4 PM.

ADELAIDE STREET
Details: Full road closure from Walker Street to Sherrin Esplanade for the Big Fun Run.
Dates / Times: Saturday 21 June, between the hours of 6 AM until 9 AM.
