Council invites community to 2025-26 Budget and update session

Cook Shire Council is inviting community members to attend a special 2025–26 Budget and Community Update session on Wednesday 16 July from 5:30 PM at the Cooktown Events Centre.

This event is an opportunity for the community to gain valuable insight into how Council’s 2025–26 Budget was developed, and how it reflects the priorities and aspirations identified through the recent Community Scorecard Survey and Budget Consultation Process.

Council’s CEO and senior officers will provide a breakdown of key budget items, share updates on major projects, and outline the strategic direction Council is taking to support a strong, sustainable future for the region, including a presentation of key findings from the recent Community Scorecard.

The session is part of Council’s ongoing commitment to transparency, community engagement, and ensuring residents are informed about the work being done across the Shire.

All members of the public are encouraged to attend. The full agenda will be announced on Tuesday 8 July
