Sandstone edge installed to protect splash park filtration system

A new sandstone boundary has been installed at the Splash Park to help prevent lawn clippings and debris from entering the filtration system — a long-standing issue that has led to repeated shutdowns of the facility.

This operational upgrade offers a simple, low-maintenance solution with big benefits, helping improve reliability and keeping the park running more consistently for the community.

While the sandstone also provides a modest buffer between the play area and nearby traffic, Council continues to assess additional measures to improve safety around the Splash Park. This includes exploring options such as fencing, speed humps, new signage, and landscaping.

As a reminder, the speed limit along Webber Esplanade is 30 km/h. Recent monitoring has recorded vehicles travelling well above this limit, and Council is working closely with local police to address this issue and keep the area safe for families and visitors.
