Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will be carrying out reconstruction works to repair multiple sites on the Mulligan Highway
(Lakeland – Cooktown) from late August 2025 until November 2025.
The work will involve earthworks, asphalt and bitumen resurfacing, revegetation on the Mulligan Highway and repairs to expansion joints on the Little Annan River bridge.
Crews will be onsite Monday to Saturday between 7 am and 5 pm during this period pending favourable weather, site conditions and contractor availability.
For the safety of road users and maintenance crews, changed traffic conditions will be in place including temporary speed limit reductions, single lane closures and traffic control while the works are carried out. Variable Message Signs (VMS) will be in place on the approaches to the work site to ensure motorists are aware of the changed traffic conditions.
Changes in dates due to poor weather will be posted on the VMS boards.
