Step into Cooktown’s past with “The Spirits of Cooktown” – Live theatre at the Pioneer cemetery

Cooktown’s history will come alive this October as audiences are invited to experience The Spirits of Cooktown – a captivating community theatre performance set in the heart of Cooktown Pioneer Cemetery.

 

Presented by Box Jelly Theatre Company and supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland, this unique production shines a spotlight on the rich stories, traditions, and characters of Cooktown’s past. Told through a blend of theatre, music and movement, The Spirits of Cooktown is more than a show – it’s an immersive journey through time.

Performances will be held across two nights – Friday 3 and Saturday 4 October – with two sessions each evening:

6:00pm – 7:00pm

7:30pm – 8:30pm

Location: Cooktown Pioneer Cemetery

Tickets are affordable and family-friendly:

Adults (18+): $10

Youth (13–17): $5

Children (6–12): Free (not suitable for children under 6)
