Dedicated Action Plan responds to community priorities

Cook Shire Council has finalised its 2025–27 Community Scorecard Action Plan — a detailed roadmap developed directly from the priorities identified by the community through the 2025 Community Scorecard study.

The 2025–27 Community Scorecard Action Plan translates community feedback into a practical set of actions that will guide Council’s work over the next two years. It focuses on the five key priority areas identified by residents:

  • Local Roads and Bridges
  • Housing
  • Aged Care and Accommodation
  • Community Safety and Crime Prevention
  • Health and Community Services

Turning community feedback into action

Developed collaboratively across multiple Council departments, the Action Plan identifies and coordinates projects that align directly with the priorities raised by the community.

Some of the initiatives included in the plan are already part of Council’s Operational Plan, while others are new, low-cost and creative initiatives designed to promote greater transparency and community understanding of Council’s responsibilities and level of influence.

Altogether, the plan contains more than 38 individual actions ranging from major infrastructure projects — such as road, drainage and bridge upgrades — to advocacy and awareness-building activities supporting housing, aged care, and community safety improvements.

Other highlights include the development of a whole-of-Council Advocacy Strategy, targeted communications to support local reporting and engagement, and programs that foster community wellbeing, connection and resilience.

A clear commitment to accountability

The Action Plan demonstrates Council’s commitment to listening to the community and taking clear, measurable steps in response. Progress will be tracked and reviewed quarterly, with updates made publicly available to ensure transparency and accountability as work progresses.
