Helping locals get confident online with Be Connected workshops

Cook Shire residents looking to build their digital confidence are invited to take part in free Be Connected Digital Skills Workshops this October, hosted by Cook Shire and State Libraries.

The hands-on sessions are designed to help participants feel more comfortable using their phones, tablets, and laptops — covering everyday digital skills like staying safe online, using apps, browsing the internet, sending emails, and more.

The workshops are perfect for anyone who wants to learn in a friendly, relaxed environment.

The program is based on the trusted Be Connected initiative, which helps Australians of all ages build digital skills and safely navigate the online world.

Cooktown Library – Thursday, 23 October 2025 | 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Bloomfield Library – Friday, 24 October 2025 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Community members can register by calling Cooktown Library on 4069 5009 or by visiting either library to confirm their spot.

Whether you’re completely new to technology or just looking to learn a few new tricks, these workshops are a great opportunity to get connected and gain confidence online.
