Coen moves to Alert Level Water Restrictions — effective immediately

Due to pressure on the local water supply, Cook Shire Council has introduced Alert Level Water Restrictions in Coen, effective immediately. Please reduce non-essential water use.

What you can and can’t do
  • No watering on Wednesdays.
  • Sprinklers, micro-sprays and drip systems are not permitted.
  • Hand-held hoses with a trigger nozzle may be used at any time.
  • Ponds and fountains can’t be filled unless using a non-potable supply.
  • Pools: existing pools may be topped up; new pool filling is allowed but discouraged.
  • Hard surfaces may be cleaned only with pressure cleaners and for health or safety reasons.
  • Vehicle washing is allowed anytime with a bucket or a hose fitted with a trigger nozzle.
