What’s on at Cooktown Events Centre these school holidays?

Cook Shire Council is excited to share a fun-filled program of activities at the Cooktown Events Centre this December.

From high-energy laser tag battles to classic Christmas movies and action-packed drop-in sports sessions, there’s something for every young person to enjoy these school holidays.

Laser Tag – 8 & 15 December

Get ready to gear up and hit the arena! Laser Tag is back for two big days of friendly competition and fast-paced excitement.
Session times each day:

9:00 – 11:00 AM — Ages 10–12

12:00 – 2:00 PM — Ages 13+
All equipment is provided, so just bring your best aim and plenty of energy.

Holiday Movie Afternoons – 10 & 17 December

Cool off and relax with two festive movie afternoons at the Events Centre.
Wednesday 10 December:

  • Frozen
  • The Nightmare Before Christmas

Wednesday 17 December:

  • The Grinch
  • Home Alone

Both sessions run from 12:00 – 4:00 PM, with beanbags and chairs provided. Perfect for kids, families, and anyone wanting a cheerful break from the heat.

Drop-In Sports – 16 & 19 December

For those who love to stay active, Drop-In Sports returns for two afternoons of indoor fun.
Tuesday 16 December and Friday 19 December
Time: 1:00 – 4:00 PM

Participants can join in a mix of games, including:

  • Indoor soccer
  • Basketball
  • Touch football
  • Dodgeball
  • Edor

No bookings are required — just drop in and jump into the action.
