Due to recent weather conditions and vandalism affecting both John Street Oval and Queens Oval, Council has made changes to the upcoming School Holiday Sports Program to ensure activities can continue safely.
All scheduled sports activities will now take place at the Cooktown Events Centre.
In addition, sessions will run as drop-in games, allowing participants to join in at any time during the scheduled hours.
The change of venue will remain in place unless weather conditions improve and the ovals are deemed suitable for use.
Families are encouraged to head along to the Cooktown Events Centre at the same advertised times for some active, school holiday fun. Council thanks the community for their understanding and looks forward to seeing everyone there.
