Council Sponsorships
Supporting community members, events and initiatives
Council’s Sponsorship program provides funding of up to $4,000 for organisations, and $1,000 for individuals to help deliver events and initiatives that benefit the community.
Funding is available year-round, supporting projects that celebrate our people, promote participation, and strengthen local pride.

How much funding is available?
- Up to $4,000 per organisation
- Up to $1,000 for individuals (e.g. representing Cook Shire at state, national or international level)
- Applications are open all year, but must be submitted at least 6 weeks before the event or activity
Who can apply?
- Incorporated community groups and not-for-profits
- Charitable organisations
- Individuals or unincorporated groups auspiced by an eligible body
How are applications assessed?
Council considers:
- The benefit to the community
- Value for money and clear budgeting
- Capacity to deliver the event or initiative
- Alignment with Council’s goals and values
- Opportunities for Council recognition and promotion
What happens if I’m successful?
The successful applicant will receive a letter of success with funding terms and payment will be made to the nominated bank account within two weeks. The project will be delivered within the set timeframes given in the application. Once the project is completed, an acquittal will need to be submitted to finalise the project within project within 8 weeks of project completion. This includes receipts and proof of payment, photos, and a short report on project outcomes.
How do I apply?
- Make sure you read and are familiar with the Community Grants and Support Programs Guidelines
- Make a plan – what are you trying to achieve? What does your project look like? Who is involved?
- Collect quotes, letters of support and other supporting documentation to attach to your application
- Fill in our online application form
- Submit application in portal and await outcome
