Business Disater Resilience Training – Lakeland

Be prepared — boost your business’s disaster resilience.

Learn how to prepare, respond, and bounce back stronger with a free, practical workshop designed for all types of businesses and community groups.This customised two- to three-hour training will run participants through available disaster resources, best practice resilience strategies, and practical real-life scenarios.

What You’ll Learn

Workshops can focus on one or both of the following areas:

Disaster preparedness and resilience (during storm season):

• Preparation for disasters and other crises using Small Business Disaster Hub resources

• How to communicate in a crisis or disaster

• Training and preparing staff

Disaster recovery and resilience (following a severe weather event):

• Steps and resources to recover from a disaster

• How to apply for small business disaster grants (Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority – QRIDA)

• How to apply for not-for-profit disaster resilience grants

• How to make an insurance claim (Insurance Council of Australia)

• Building resilience into business processes and practices

Outcomes

By the end of the course, participants will:

• Identify gaps in disaster planning

• Know how small businesses can prepare, respond, and recover from disasters

• Access crisis planning and response templates designed for small businesses

• Understand practical crisis communication tips for engaging all stakeholders

• Feel more confident in managing real-life disasters

• Know how to apply for small business disaster grants
