Sand & Sky: A Day at Finch Bay

Kites in the sky, sculputres in the sand, and the salty breeze of Finch Bay — this is your invitation to an unforgettable afternoon of beachside fun for the whole community.

Sand & Sky brings together giant kite installations (some up to 30 metres long!) from Kites Queensland, a sand scuplture showdown, beach games, chillout zones, and a laid-back fundraising BBQ. You’re welcome to bring your own kite, beach mat, picnic, and creativity.

Getting there is easy: take a walk through the Botanic Gardens Reserve or hop on the free courtesy bus looping from the Botanic Gardens Car Park to Finch Bay Car Park from 2PM until 5PM.

Please note: Finch Bay is not suitable for swimming due to crocodiles and stingers.
