Supporting local growth and community spirit

Council’s Community and Economic Development Grants provide up to $6,000 to help deliver projects that bring people together, improve facilities, protect the environment, and strengthen our local economy.

Two funding rounds are offered each year, giving community groups and organisations the chance to make a lasting difference in Cook Shire.

How much funding is available?
  • Up to $6,000 per project
  • Two rounds per year, advertised on Council’s website
How do I apply?
  1. Make sure you read and are familiar with the Community Grants and Support Guidelines
  2. Make a plan – what are you trying to achieve? What does your project look like? Who is involved?
  3. Collect your quotes, letters of support and other supporting documentation to attach to your application
  4. Fill in your online application form
  5. Submit application in portal and await outcome
What happens if I’m successful?
  • The successful applicant will receive a letter of success with funding terms and payment will be made to the nominated bank account within two weeks.
  • The project will be delivered within the set timeframes given in the application.
  • You MUST acquit your grant within 8 weeks of completing your project. This includes receipts, photos, and a short report on outcomes.
