Rediscover the magic of Cooktown Botanic Gardens, as part of Botanic Gardens Day 2023.
From live music and face painting to fungi finding and guided tours, there really is something for everyone to enjoy. So pack a picnic and kick back in the gardens, or make it all the more relaxing by pre-purchasing a delicious picnic pack from Nature’s Powerhouse. Simply call 4069 5763 to order.
Festivities and activities include:
- Live music from Bernie’s Jazz Quartet 11am – 1pm
- Guided tours of the Gardens 10am and 2pm
- Indigenous plant presentations and guided tour 1pm
- Cape York Toy Parade with prizes for the best dressed toys under the theme: CAPE YORK 1.30pm
- Viewing of the Cooktown Cantata at Nature’s Powerhouse (gold coin donation entry fee) 2.30pm
- Face painting 10am – 2pm
- Giant outdoor games – 10am – 3pm
- A scavenger hunt 10am – 3pm
- Fungi identification and appreciation information 10am – 3pm
- Colouring-in competition 10am – 2pm
- Social Cricket on Queen’s Oval. $10 per person. Women’s Game 10am and Men’s Game 1pm.
