Council crews are busy at work, chipping away at the long and ever-growing list of works and repairs caused by the enduring (and super soggy) wet season.

With the below works likely to continue into next week, please keep an eye out for crews working in the following areas, and as always, drive to conditions:

  • Contractors in Ayton cleaning drains, patching roads, clearing Platypus Ck. Been rained out for the rest of the week and will be back down next week
  • Repairs to washed-out pipe on Quarantine Bay Road
  • Shiptons Flat: clearing trees off-road and silt removal
  • Repairing scours around Cooktown
  • Repairing signs and signposts in Cooktown
  • Installing signs at stage 5 Charlotte Street (Cooktown Wharf area)
  • Pothole patching Bloomfield road
  • Barretts Creek road repairs
  • Repairs to Homerule Road
  • Repairs to Oakey Creek Road
  • Bridge Crew installing footpath on Furneaux Street
  • Bridge Crew getting temporary bridge ready for instantly at Platypus Creek
  • DRFA assessments happening on roads we are able to travel on

There is no guarantee that your concerns posted on social media will get seen by Council, therefore submitting them via the above channels is the fastest and most effective way to ensure your concerns get addressed.
