Temporary repair works were undertaken on Ida Street this week following the recent culvert failure.
Significant rainfall over the past few days has impacted site conditions, particularly ground compaction in the repaired area.
The road will now reopen (with restrictions) from Tuesday 7 April 2026, to allow additional time for the repairs to stabilise.
When reopened:
- Access will be limited to light vehicles only (under 5 tonnes)
- Load limits and traffic signage will be in place
These are temporary works, and conditions may change depending on weather and ground performance.
