Gnome Making Competition
Get creative and bring your very own garden gnome to life as part of this year’s Gnome Making Competition. Open to all ages, schools, businesses, community groups and families, this fun competition celebrates creativity, imagination and all things garden-inspired.
Gnomes can be made from any materials and judges will be looking for originality, craftsmanship and that special touch that captures the spirit of a classic garden gnome.
Competition Details:
- Free to enter
- Open to all ages and groups
- Gnomes must be freestanding and no taller than 1 metre
- Entries must be suitable for outdoor display and able to withstand wind conditions
- Gnomes must be displayed in good taste
Prizes:
Prizes will be awarded for the best overall gnome and runner-up entries.
Delivery Information:
Entries must be delivered to the Cooktown Botanic Gardens by 9:30am on Sunday 24 May 2026.
Gnomes will remain on display in the gardens for up to two weeks and must be collected by Sunday 7 June 2026. Uncollected entries will be disposed of appropriately.
