Cook Shire Council is proud to unveil its new, user-friendly website, designed to provide residents, businesses, and visitors with seamless access to essential information and services. The modern, streamlined platform underscores Council’s commitment to improving communication and transparency across the Shire.
The new website offers intuitive navigation, a responsive design for mobile and tablet users, a regional events calendar, and an enhanced search function, making finding updates on Council services, projects, events, and community laws easier. Additionally, the new site features a tool that allows local businesses, community groups, and organisations to list and promote their events to a broader audience.
Mayor Robyn Holmes welcomed the launch, stating, “This new website marks a significant step forward in ensuring everyone can easily access the information they need. Whether you’re looking for Council services, updates on local projects, job and tender opportunities, or details about community events, it’s all right at your fingertips.”
Mayor Holmes urged the digitally connected community to make the website their go-to source for Council news and updates. “We recommend that the website be your first stop for the most accurate and up-to-date information on Council matters,” she stated, adding that Council’s Customer Service team remain on hand during office hours for those community members who prefer making enquiries in person or by telephone.
Since its ‘soft’ launch on 3 October 2024, Council teams have been testing and enhancing the site. Now that it’s formally launched, we encourage the community to provide their feedback by taking the following short survey.
To help community groups promote their events on the new platform, Council will host two Marketing your Events with Council workshops at its offices on 23 October from 5:00–6:30 PM and 24 October from 3:30–5:00 PM. These sessions will provide practical guidance on how organisations and community groups can make their events stand out, as well as how submit events to ensure they are listed in Councils What’s On Cook Shire regional events calendar. Spaces at the workshops are limited, so registration is essential. (Book here).
