In a proactive effort to ensure community safety, Cook Shire Council recently teamed up with Get Ready Queensland at the Cooktown Kindergarten Community Fete. Our participation at this event focused on sharing vital tips and strategies for staying safe during Queensland’s severe weather season, which is right around the corner.
Attendees were able to obtain expert advice on how to prepare for summer storms and develop effective emergency plans. Participants left feeling more equipped and confident as they navigated the potential challenges of the upcoming wet season. Get Ready Queensland’s emphasis on preparedness empowers residents to take charge of their safety, making it an invaluable resource during this critical time.
We’d like to express our gratitude to Cooktown Community Kindergarten for hosting the event, and to everyone who took the time to chat or join in our fun Emergency Kit game. Your enthusiasm and curiosity made the occasion truly memorable! It was wonderful to see so many community members unite in support of our local Kindergarten.
The day was not just informative; it was filled with fun and great community pride. This gathering reinforced the importance of being prepared for the inevitable wet season that Queensland experiences. Together, we can build a resilient community that knows how to face the elements with confidence.
