This morning, the Cook Shire community gathered in remembrance to honour the service and sacrifice of our nation’s Veterans on Remembrance Day 2024.
Cook Shire Mayor, Cr. Robyn Holmes, addressed the crowd, expressing gratitude and respect for the service and sacrifice of our veterans, both past and present. Councillors were also in attendance, joining residents in a solemn and respectful ceremony that saw a strong turnout from the community, all united in remembrance.
Remembrance Day serves not only as a time to honour those who have fallen but also as an opportunity to reflect on the values of courage, duty, and peace. Events like these help ensure that the legacy of our servicemen and women continues to inspire us and that we never forget the sacrifices made for our freedom.
We thank everyone who attended and participated in today’s ceremony. It is through moments like this that we ensure the values of service and sacrifice are passed on to future generations.
Lest we forget.
