Cook Shire Council wishes to advise the public of upcoming road works as part of essential Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) and asset rehabilitation projects. These works will be carried out by contractors, and traffic control and detours will be implemented to ensure the safety of the public and workers. While the impact of these works is expected to be minimal, affected businesses will be duly informed in advance.
The tentative program for works is as follows:

- Access to businesses in the area will remain available via detour routes.
Charlotte Street Roundabout Works
Scheduled for: WORKS PERIOD EXTENDED UNTIL 22 NOVEMBER. 19–21 November 2024, 6 am to 6 pm daily
Road Status: Detour in place during working hours, with the roundabout closed off.
Impact:
- The area will be closed to traffic from 6 am to 6 pm each day.
- Detours will be arranged around the site, and heavy machinery operations may result in noise, dust, and vibrations.
- Access to businesses in the vicinity of the roundabout will remain available through designated detour routes.
Additional Minor Patching
Locations: Various locations around town (e.g., Charlotte Street)
Traffic Management: Temporary Management Plans and Traffic Control as necessary.
The map provided shows the planned detour routes and traffic control setup for the upcoming road works. Please refer to it for details on road closures, detour paths, and traffic management locations. While detours are in place, access to all businesses in the affected areas will be maintained.
