Cook Shire Council is undertaking important refurbishment works on the Marton Swing Bridge to improve safety and extend the life of this valued community asset.
The planned works include:
- Replacing the bridge decking
- Replacing the timber bridge approaches
- Upgrading drainage at one end of the structure
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF MARTON SWING BRIDGE : 31 March until 2 May 2025
To carry out these improvements, the Marton Swing Bridge will be closed to the public from 31 March to 2 May 2025, weather permitting. During this period, Council will make every effort to open the bridge for weekend use, provided it is safe to do so.
We acknowledge that this is short notice and apologise for any inconvenience. The timing of this project has been selected to make the most of available resources and deliver infrastructure improvements efficiently for our community.
